The committee was pleased with the work plan, study to be undertaken, and public engagement during the study as part of updating the Old Oakville Heritage Conservation District.
The committee indicated that consulting with local architects is a resource on the renovation and evolution of historical heritage homes in the district for public engagement.
The committee asked that staff look into the possibility of enacting an Interim Control By-law to deal with heritage applications during the study phase of the project and update to the heritage conservation district plan.
Susan Schappert, Heritage Planner, responded to questions regarding the heritage conservation district process and study, timelines, public engagement, electronic communication, and information sharing.
A separate staff report will be forwarded to the September 13, 2021 Planning and Development Council for consideration.
