  • Recommendation:

    That the minutes of the Committee of the Whole - Midtown Oakville meeting of July 18, 2023, be approved.

  • Recommendation:
    1. That updates to the Pregnancy/ Parental Leave Procedure be received.
    2. That updates to the Municipal Alcohol Policy be approved, and updates to related Alcohol at Special Occasion Permitted Events Procedure be received.
    3. That the Use of Town Digital Kiosks for BIA Sponsorship Policy be approved.
  • Recommendation:

    That By-law 2023-100, a by-law to provide for the levying of payments in lieu of taxes for the year 2023 on Halton Healthcare Services Corporation and the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, as attached to the report of the Finance Department dated August 1, 2023, be approved.

  • Recommendation:
    1. That the authority to determine eligibility for property tax reductions under the Municipal Act, 2001 s. 357(1)(d.1) Sickness or Extreme Poverty be delegated to the Assessment Review Board.

    2. That By-law 2023-109, a by-law to delegate authority to the Assessment Review Board to exercise certain powers and functions of Council pursuant to Section 357(1)(d.1) of the Municipal Act, 2001 be passed.
  • Recommendation:

    That staff be authorized to transfer Block 21 on Plan 20M-1185 to the owner of the adjacent lands to the south (Block 14 on Plan 20M-1185) for fair market value compensation, retaining all necessary easements, to the satisfaction of the CAO and Town Solicitor.

  • Recommendation:
    1. That By-law 2023-104 a by-law to amend Parks By-law 2013-013, respecting the regulation of kite flying and to prohibit the use of kite string made of hazardous materials as set out in Appendix A to the report from Municipal Enforcement Services dated August 1, 2023, be passed.

    2. That budgetary requirements to enforce By-law 2023-104 be referred to the 2024 Budget process for consideration.

    3. That staff monitor kite fighting on private and public property and the use of kite fighting string in parks and report back to Council in Q2 2024 with an update.

  • Recommendation:

    That staff proceed with the programming and building requirements for a new town hall on the existing site, 1225 Trafalgar Road.

  • Recommendation:

    That the 2023 priority intergovernmental requests identified in Appendix A of the report dated August 1, 2023 from the Strategy, Policy and Communications department be approved.
